Since I am still technically a student this year I try to check my university inbox every couple of days just to make sure nothing too exciting is happening... I went on just now to find 17 emails, this is not too unusual but today like everyday it annoyed me. This is because I deleted all 17 without ever opening them! I have never asked to hear from any of these people regarding optometry lectures or missing USB sticks. I happily subscribe to an excellent blog by Seth Godin

I get emails regarding the blog and I am delighted with them but why can't I unsubscribe to university emails and why is it so hard for them to create groups for different subjects?

thats a bit weird that they don't send different subjects different emails....at loughborough you can email your whole course, whole department, particular years of your course, a specific module on your course etc - really useful and means we don't get lots of useless emails, maybe Aston should tkse a leaf out of our book!
Hey, where abouts are you based for 3M and what's it like as a company to work for? I'm a computing student and I'm apply for jobs and stuff. And yeah Brits can't cope with anything that isn't tea and rain.
Hi Gareth,
I am based in Loughborough which is in Leicestershire; working for 3M is pretty good. they pay well and spend time and money improving their staff... (I have spent about 3weeks of my 7 months employment on courses). But the main reason I would recommend it is the people here are a cracking laugh and make work on a Monday a little easier to come to terms with.
Let me know if you have any other questions as I am more than happy to answer them.
red tape versus freedom my friend...its a fine, thin and cold blue line...whatever that means...
